Our Creed

Recognizing that the Bible is the very Word of God to man, and understanding the priority of knowing  and obeying its truths, we are deeply committed to studying and teaching the Scriptures with diligence and clarity.

This page represents our convictions regarding theological truths of the Bible. These are the primary doctrines of the Christian faith and they reflect the heart of the teaching here at Faith Bible Fellowship. Though as a congregation we are characterized by diversity in age and background, it is the truths from which these confessions are drawn that afford us unity of faith.

Yet, doctrine was never intended to be sterile and academic. When understood and applied, it will be fleshed out in practical ways in the lives of believers as their minds are being renewed day by day.

As a result, we strive to teach the Scriptures in such a way that the people of God may know Him better and serve Him more fully in worship and ministry.

It is our hope that this page may help you understand the truths that draw us together.

————————————————————————————————————————

We confess that the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the verbally inspired Word of God, inerrant in the original writings, and the only infallible rule of faith and practice.

We confess that there is one God, creator and sustainer of the universe, who eternally exists in three co-equal persons, the Trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

We confess our belief in the Lord Jesus Christ, who being fully God became fully man, being conceived by the Holy Spirit, and born of a virgin.

We confess our belief in the Holy Spirit, the third person of the Trinity, who glorifies Christ. convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgement, and equips and empowers believers for a life of holiness and fruitful service.

We confess that mankind was created in the image of God, that in Adam all sinned and are guilty before God, that all human beings are born with a sinful nature, and as a result, not only suffer the consequences of the fall, but are under the condemnation of God.

We confess that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice, and that all who believe in Him alone for salvation are justified on the basis of His shed blood.

We confess our belief in the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord, His ascension into heaven, and His present ministry as High Priest and Advocate on our behalf.

We confess our belief in the blessed hope, which is the personal, visible, and imminent return of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

We confess that all who repent and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Savior are delivered from the judgement of God, are born again by the Holy Spirit, and thereby become children of God and heirs of eternal life.

We confess our belief in the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust, the everlasting conscious suffering of the lost in hell, and the everlasting blessedness of believers in the presence of Christ.

We confess our belief in the existence of a personal devil, who is still working in the world to destroy the souls of men, and that he and all his angels will suffer eternal punishment in the lake of fire, along with all who do not receive Jesus Christ as their Savior.

We confess that the Church, the Body of Christ, exists to glorify God as it fulfills Christ’s mission to make disciples of all nations and equip them for meaningful ministry, spiritual duplication, and dynamic Christian witness.

We confess that the ordinances of the Church, given by our Lord, are Baptism and Communion.

We confess that the foregoing confessions represent the core Christian doctrine; therefore we stand firm upon this Confession of Faith.
